Michael Petersen, DVM
Dr. Petersen graduated from Iowa State University in 1980. He practiced in Sun Prairie before starting Stoughton Veterinary Service Animal Hospital in March of 1983. In addition to practicing at Stoughton Veterinary Service Animal Hospital, Dr. Petersen has provided the veterinary care of the Henry Vilas Zoo in Madison since 1989. Dr. Petersen has been a member of several civic groups and town commissions and provides veterinary service for the Stoughton Police Department Canine Unit and for the Madison Capitol Canines.
Matthew A. Watrud, DVM
Dr. Watrud graduated from University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2008. He has worked at Stoughton Veterinary Service Animal Hospital since his graduation. Dr. Watrud has a strong interest in working with exotic species such as birds reptiles and pocket pets. He has been assisting Dr. Petersen at the Henry Vilas Zoo since he joined Stoughton Veterinary Service Animal Hospital staff. Dr. Watrud also treats Stoughton Police Department's K9 unit German Shepherd.
Stephanie Vanden Bush, DVM
Dr. Vanden Bush started her veterinary career as a veterinary technician at a busy wellness and emergency clinic in Hawaii. She returned home to Wisconsin to go to UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, and has been practicing at Stoughton Veterinary Service since she graduated in 2014. While Dr. Vanden Bush enjoys all aspects of being a general practitioner, she is particularly passionate about ophthalmology, oncology, and palliative care. Dr. Vanden Bush is an advocate for preserving the human-animal bond. In her free time, Dr. Vanden Bush enjoys hiking, cooking, and taking her family on adventures.
Dr. Jennifer Wallace, DVM
Dr. Wallace grew up in Columbus, OH and has wanted to be a veterinarian since she was 3 years old. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Zoology from Ohio Wesleyan University in 2014, then went on to get her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Minnesota in 2018. Her professional interests include preventative medicine, surgery and dentistry and she enjoys seeing dogs, cats and the occasional exotic pet. In her free time, Dr. Wallace enjoys spending time outdoors. She especially likes playing soccer, kayaking, hiking, and camping with her boyfriend.
Mark A. McCann
Dr. Mark McCann graduated from Palmer College of Chiropractic in 1986 and has been practicing in the Madison area since that time. He received his animal chiropractic education at Options For Animals in 2002, where both chiropractors and veterinarians participate in an intensive 150 hour curriculum. He passed both written and practical examinations given by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association to become a certified animal chiropractor. Mark is available by appointment only on Wednesdays every week.
